Born and raised in the Warwickshire countryside, Mark developed a passion for the auction world from an early age through regular visits to agricultural and farm sales. It was there that his fascination with auctions - and the role of the auctioneer in particular - first began.

After completing a degree in Fine Art and postgraduate studies in the History of Art and Design, Mark joined the Birmingham Firm of Chartered Surveyors, Bigwoods, in the late 1980s as a trainee auctioneer and valuer, beginning a career that has spanned decades in the Midlands' salerooms. During this time, he has built a wealth of knowledge and experience, creating many memorable stories along the way, including appearances as an auctioneer on a number of television programmes.

Mark is delighted to be part of the team at Griffin's Auctioneers as Fine Art Valuer and Consultant, where he continues to share his expertise and enthusiasm with clients, collectors, and colleagues alike.
